Spanish Banks Volleyball

Mike bought a new volleyball net the other day so we christened it today down at Spanish Banks. Mike and Ken got down there around 10.30am and were lucky enough to score the very last set of poles.

It was a scorcher of a day and after playing for about half an hour or so we had to stop due to the temp of the sand. We noticed almost everyone else on the beach was wearing socks... gotta remember that for next time.

We ended up spending quite a bit of time in the water throwing the frisbee and just cooling off. The temp of the water was perfect!

See all pics.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

We walked past the Westin Bayshore today and there was a film set being established which included an array of awesome cars. After talking to security I found out that it was for the upcoming film Percy Jackson & the Olympians staring Rosario Dawson, Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan.

Cricket lessons

We had the Kanga Cricket set down at the beach today and it was about 1/2 Canadian, 1/2 Aussie contingent so we gave the Canucks a few lessons in the game and let them lose on the pitch. Ken and Mike were whipping in the in-swingers and Jesse was belting (getting thick edges) them with his unorthodox reverse hand grip.

Vancouver heatwave

Summer is finally here in Vancouver. It seems to have come all of a sudden and most people have embraced it with open arms. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a cricket set on Sunday and roll a few over on the grass by Kits pool...

It seems that others have been caught unaware and struggle to make it through the day...
